Policy makers urged to protect rights of women, children

Stakeholders in the promotion of the rights of women and children are calling on policy makers to put in place measures that will enhance the protection of the rights of women and children in the country. Speaking to journalists as part of activities to mark the International Women’s Day in Accra;
The National Coordinator of the International Cocoa Initiative in Ghana, Mike Arthur, said his outfit engage women in cocoa growing areas in some income generating activities that empower them on decision making issues.

A former Minister of Women, Gender and Social Protection Mrs. Juliana Azumah Mensah, also added that protection of the rights of children should not be left to women parliamentarians alone.
