Stakeholders in the cocoa supply chain accept floor price proposed by Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire

Partners in the global cocoa industry, have accepted the Floor Price of $2,600 per tonne proposed by Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. This new producer price is expected to come into effect in the 2020 to 2021 main growing season. The deal, therefore, gives the assurance of better producer prices for farmers in Ghana as 70 percent of the price will go directly to farmers for their produce sold to Licensed Buying companies.
