Responsible management of child labour risks in Côte d’Ivoire’s cocoa sector

A collaborative effort to improve the management of child and forced labour in Côte d’Ivoire

Project overview

This project seeks to improve the management of child labour and forced labour risk within Ivorian cocoa cooperatives through the development, testing and deployment of an easy-to-use risk index. The index will allow cocoa cooperatives to identify the communities and households most at need of assistance, and target interventions to remediate and prevent child labour.

Once developed the risk index will be tested amongst around 30 cocoa cooperatives before the roll out of a larger scale dissemination strategy to promote its use by all cooperatives.

Project term: December 2019 – April 2021
