Richard Awuku Gyesu, a Ghanaian cocoa farmer, on the benefits of farmer field school training: “I used to harvest a sack and a half of cocoa. I had farmed for ten years but was broke then. The farmer field school helped me to improve my farming methods and also improved the standard of living of my family. I now share my knowledge in the new farming practices with my colleague farmers. I teach them how to use insecticides and apply fertilizer. Due to the farmer field school training I had through ICI, I am harvesting five bags of cocoa sacks. It has helped my farm improve tremendously, including my standard of living.”
