This report provides an overview of relevant national legislation and policies aiming to protect children from child labour in Ethiopia.
It includes comparisons with international norms and standards on child labour, with a focus on those most applicable to child labour in agriculture and the coffee sector.
In the absence of a national hazardous activity framework, the report draws on existing good practice and recent countrywide studies of child labour to propose a list of hazardous activities, which could be included in surveys to assess the prevalence of child labour in coffee growing areas.
