Mondelez International, an ICI partner and board member, has published its 2019 Cocoa Life report, showing positive progress towards achieving the company’s 2025 sustainability goals. ICI welcomes the report and the strong commitments made to sustainability and to 100% coverage of the company’s West African supply chain by Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems.
The Snacking Made Right 2019 Report details progress made across Cocoa Life’s three target areas: Making Cocoa Farming a Sustainable Business, Creating Empowered Communities, and Conserving and Restoring Forests. Key results include 175,000 farmers from 2,012 communities now registered with the Cocoa Life programme, and 63% of the company’s cocoa volume sourced from it. In addition, over 121,000 community members are participating in Village Savings and Loan Associations. ICI continues to support Mondelez achieve its goals through action against child and forced labour.
