A lawyer by training and holder of a Master's degree in Communication, Management and Marketing, Euphrasie Aka has more than 20 years of experience in the sustainable development of cocoa farming. She has solid experience in the promotion of children's rights and in the fight against child labour.
In 2002 she served as Communications and Administration Officer and Acting Executive Director of the Sustainable Tree Crops Programme (STCP), a programme of the IITA (International Institute for Tropical Agriculture) and funded by the World Cocoa Foundation and USAID. This experience led to her being recruited as Country Director of MPACT (Mars Partnership for African Cocoa Communities of Tomorrow,) an ambitious holistic community development project (agricultural certification, education, income-generating activities, health, water, hygiene and sanitation), initiated and funded by Mars Incorporated, to improve the living and working conditions of cocoa producing communities.
From 2012 to 2021, Euphrasie Aka was the Country Director and Regional Representative for West and Central Africa of ICI. Since 2022, she is the West and Central Africa Director.
