This paper investigates factors influencing farmers' decision-making  in  employing child labour in the Western Region of Ghana. The results show that household characteristics such as the age of the farmer, the number of adults and the number of children under 18 in the household significantly influence the probability of employing children on cocoa farms. It was also found that farms under sharecropping contracts have a lower probability of using child labour.
