    Changes in hazardous child labour in Côte d'Ivoire's cocoa communities before and after Covid-19 partial lockdown
    Earlier this year the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) analysed data from 263 communities in Côte d’Ivoire to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on child labour. In these communities, 1,443 cocoa-growing households were visited under ICI’s Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems (CLMRS) between 17 March and 15 May 2020 to identify cases of child labour.

    Gender analysis within the cocoa supply chain in Ghana
    This report, carried out by Oxfam, examines gender in cocoa production in cocoa-growing regions of Ghana. Through focus groups, interviews, and household surveys in the Bia East and Atwima Mponua Districts, the researchers conclude that women contribute substantially to cocoa production yet are often on the margins of the supply chain.

    The Solidaridad Network, a partner of the International Cocoa Initiative, presents findings on the impact of MASO, a five-year programme focussed on creating employment opportunities for youth aged 18-25 in cocoa communities.
