Touton Group, a partner and board member of the International Cocoa Initiative, has launched its 2020 Communication on Progress. This report presents updates related to sustainability in the company’s cocoa supply chain in line with the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
As outlined in the report, 44,005 farming households are now covered by Touton’s Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems. These systems allow implementers to identify, monitor, remediate and prevent child labour cases (find out more here). ICI is supporting Touton to scale up its CLMRS in Côte d’Ivoire.
In addition, Touton partnered with the Jacobs Foundation as part of the Child Learning and Education Facility and Early Learning and Nutrition Facility) multi-stakeholder initiatives, run in partnership with the Ivoirian government to advance child protection. The report also provides updates on Touton’s work on farmer livelihoods and women’s empowerment.
