The Eliminating Child Labor in Cocoa Communities project (ECLIC) offered 2403 school kits, 5000 books for school libraries, 600 literacy kits for adults, and 50 training kits for literacy class instructors for the 2017-2018 school year.

The kick-off of this campaign of distribution was held on October 26, 2017, in the Sub-Prefecture of Divo where 144 school kits, 48 literacy kits, 400 school library books, and 4 training kits for literacy class instructors have been distributed to beneficiaries from Godililié, Nouveau quartier and Namouédanou in the Sub-prefecture of Divo and, Soubrélilié in the Sous-Prefecture of Nebo. It was in the presence of Mrs. Léopoldine Kragbé, Sub-Prefect of Divo, Josiane N’GUESSAN, Sub-Prefect of Nebo, representatives from the Ministry of Education, beneficiary children and their parents.

Distribution of material is on-going in the all 50 ECLIC project communities.

The ECLIC project aims at “Reducing child labor in cocoa growing communities of Côte d’Ivoire” through direct support to 5,450 vulnerable children, engaged or at risk of child labor, as well as 1500 vulnerable households.
